CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF DR HAROON

For the past 25 years we have designed heritage bridals that not only remain timeless but celebrate our South Asian culture to its true core. Embracing the rich diversity of our weddings, our couture ensembles focus on reviving long-lost techniques and intricate embroidery, while still showcasing the beauty of our textiles, expert craftsmanship, and design to the world—all while staying deeply rooted in our traditional values.

“Though my childhood unfolded amidst modest means, it was, in every true sense, a sanctuary of abundance — steeped in culture, steeped in tradition, and rich in the quiet luxuries of values passed down through generations. I have vivid memories of my nani and ami meticulously selecting the ingredients from the chandi pandan, crafting that perfect pan that were as much a sensory experience as they were an expression of love. The air would often carry the heady perfume of jasmine from my khala’s saree, a scent so evocative it seemed to linger in the very walls — a fragrant emblem of the timeless elegance and quiet dignity that shaped the women in my family. Our evenings were a reverie of connection, where the rhythm of poetry and the soul of ghazals echoed through gatherings of kin and community, each verse a thread in the rich tapestry of our shared heritage.

It was within these cherished moments — the glint of ami’s old jugni necklaces, the delicate shimmer of ponchi bracelets, the intricate charm of lachas — that my gaze found its calling. I was captivated by the details, the patterns, the unspoken artistry they carried. As a child, I began to sketch them — small, quiet miniature renderings of beauty that, over time, evolved into the very portfolio of prints and motifs that now define my designs.

The boldly spiced flavors of our shared meals — vibrant with saffron, clove, and chili — were more than spices; they were a reflection of who we were: spirited, layered, and unapologetically alive. It is that same essence I bring into my designs, where deep maroons, fiery vermilions, and glistening golds echo the warmth and intensity of those flavors. In every bridal silhouette, I aim to capture that richness — not just in color, but in soul — because heritage isn't just remembered; it’s worn.

What began as quiet moments of artistic curiosity has become a lifelong journey of honoring heritage through fashion. These memories have shaped who I am. They remain the foundation of my inspiration, guiding every stitch and silhouette. Because true luxury isn't just about what we wear — it's found in the stories, the senses, and the soul of where we come from.”

“Every piece should honor not only the past but also the future, ensuring that our traditions continue to shine brightly in the world of couture”
